Someone should do a relay that is very-high signal. It can issue shares of revenue of that relay and then charge for each note submitted to it.

Shareholders take a cut of the revenue, but are bound to vote on whether a note is worth being published or not. If they vote no when most people voted yes or vice-versa they lose a small fraction of their shares, the shares go to those who voted with the majority.

Would this work? Why not?

My intuition is that this will be a terrible idea, 100% the "Road to Abilen" can happen. 0% signal because everybody is playing "safe" being politically correct. At least that is my prediction for the time being. I usually find your odeas really good but not this time

I'dont offer any proof, just my intuition. I think a variation of what you propose is chargeing per-interacion like stacker news does but giving the relays room for exploring different prices and models. Some can be extremely expensive to post in, probably fostering long and dense content and other may be cheap and offer some spam prevention since you need to pay for posting, boosting, etc...

This is good, as you can have relays with diverse groups and read the global feeds of each of these as you wish. An outsider may be able to immediately gather what is considered the best by each group in a glance.

I think it is, and you don't bother filtering all in one relay, just outsource that to the people choosing wich to join maybe 🤔
