Optus, Australia's second biggest communications company, has reported an hours long and ongoing outage across the country.

- Around 40% of the population is impacted, phones and internet is down

- Some train services completely stopped for hours

- Many hospitals have no phones, internet or internal communications (my wife's hospital is impacted)

Down for over 7 hours now and the CEO doesn’t give much confidence that they know what caused it or how to fix it!

No 000 calls from landlines sounds fun, running phones through the NBN was a big mistake, I've always thought so anyway.

How is she still in a job?

The breach last year was bad - specifically her handling of it was terrible, she wrote the textbook of what NOT to do and yet here she is again fronting the media looking like a complete fool again.

But CEO's must be super intelligent, right? 😁

I just walked past the Optus store in Rundle Mall and they have a couple of security guards at the entrance. I’m guessing they had a few disgruntled customers in there today!

I'm sure if they are still with Optus after the breach they'd be doubly pissed today.

Sounds like climate change to me

The oceans flooded all the towers suddenly, they've been warning us since the 70's and now look what's happened!
