In an argument with coworkers, I said equality is wanting the same protections for everyone.
I was told this is a convoluted definition of equality.

It seems to me that most (not all, but most) of our efforts toward equality have failed miserably, but I like your framing! That's pretty good.
I don't believe in equality, in that I don't think it exists and is impossible to implement.
My argument was because my coworkers claim to believe in it, yet want policies that are inequal.
