In an argument with coworkers, I said equality is wanting the same protections for everyone.

I was told this is a convoluted definition of equality.

Equality doesn’t exist.

Men don’t beg for equality.

what is fair is equality under the law

Agreed, I never got to that part of the argument. Thankfully. It's hard enough as it is to have any sort of conversation. I don't want to waste energy on people who are trapped in the faux overton window.

There is no equality.

You don't even want it, because the other person wants to have more than you.

It seems to me that most (not all, but most) of our efforts toward equality have failed miserably, but I like your framing! That's pretty good.

I don't believe in equality, in that I don't think it exists and is impossible to implement.

My argument was because my coworkers claim to believe in it, yet want policies that are inequal.

I'm for treating people with respect. heck I don't even care if you believe in equality, just would prefer if you would stay by what you say or shut up.

I say "you" but I don't mean you Fiddle. you're fine. I like you a normal amount.

Ha! sounds good
