I think we disagree on the effectiveness of the 10 inch piece of cloth on their face being a meaningful barrier to spreading germs in a crowded bar/festival setting.

And whether this believe is pretentious, or real, the past few years shown it can have dangerous consequences for the livelihoods of others when it comes to demanding/complying with society-wide restrictions.
