wtf is vegemite?

Cursory interner search compared it to peanut butter but for Aussies.

It’s a yeast spread similar to marmite. Aussies eat it on toast or sandwiches with butter, sometimes adding cheese or avocado.

Very much an acquired taste as it’s very salty so people who try it later in life tend not to like it but we eat tons of it.

It's tastes like you're cleaning a salt shaker from a snackbar with your tongue. Like they made jelly from stock cubes.

yum?

Imagine roast beef was a spread, like peanut butter. Concentrated roast beef. Then add more salt.

Its made from yeast, like Marmite, and I enjoy the look of horror on the faces of British people when they try Vegemite. (It tastes nothing like Marmite.)

In fairness, I probably made the same face when I visited the UK and tried Marmite :-p

not selling me on it.
