I have been running a Bitcoin-core node but I keep hearing that I should run Knots instead is core.

Can someone succinctly tell me why I should want to run Knots instead of Core?

hey -- we want to send you a test zap, but couldn’t find a NIP-05 or ⚡ lightning address on your profile. u can set one up for free on rizful https://rizful.com ... then pls reply here and we will do a test zap.

Thanks I guess.

People run Knots to send a message to the network about what many consider spam transactions. Hard to say if it really makes a difference, as youll still have the same overall experience.

There is no measurable benefit.

Knots is a fork of the core client with more sane defaults and more configuration options. Miners have been using it for years. It is fully compatible with Bitcoin Core and is maintained by nostr:nprofile1qqs0m40g76hqmwqhhc9hrk3qfxxpsp5k3k9xgk24nsjf7v305u6xffcpzdmhxue69uhhwmm59e6hg7r09ehkuef0nv7zl8 a long time Bitcoin Dev. It's gaining popularity in response to core removing the op_return limit in the next release

Thanks to everyone who shared. I switched to Knots.
