Why is gold more durable and fungible than bitcoin?
Gold can survive an apocalypse. Bitcoin needs people to run computers.
Bitcoin is not as fungible because of identity tied to exchange purchases.
Ironically, a CBDC like David Chaum's version would be more fungible than bitcoin. I doubt governments around the world would adopt Chaum's Chaumian e-cash version of a CBDC however.
gold can't be destroyed at all
and btc can be easily lost. same as destroy.
I take more issue with divisible. Fiat is perfect for this and gold requires a file and scale ffs.
