Got my Bitcoin Node running on my Mac Mini (late 2012). I’ve upgraded with 16G RAM and a Samsung 1Tb SSD

Do you know of a good liquid explained? I've heard of Nevins enough, but can't find anything that helps me understand at any meaningful level

Excuse me if I'm wrong. But it seems that one would have to trust the liquid federation with the "peg in" BTC. Seems against the ethos of Bitcoin to rely on a third party.
Anyway to make the BTC transactions to and from liquid via code (ie. Smart contract or something)?
