The internet is rather ephemeral compared to books.
I was hit by this considering streaming - and now the streaming services no longer even sell DVDs of their series, in order to hook people to their subscription. And once they decided to stop streaming something - it's lost.
Same with websites. The Wayback Machine helps with that, but still. So much information gone.
I remember going through card catalogs at my uni library and having to wait for books to arrive...
