Strategic #bitcoin reserve sounds good, until it doesn't.

What the government holds, it controls.

What the government controls, it corrupts.

How do you suppose government(s) will control bitcoin by holding it? Through regulation?

I’m of the opinion that governments can’t control/change bitcoin, therefore bitcoin will change governments

Of course they can't completely control it without a widespread global action. But they can influence it by regulation, taxation, restrictions and fiscal policies.

They can do this without holding it, yeah? If they hold the asset, then governments’ incentives are aligned to ensure best possible treatment for the asset in its jurisdictions. Just my 2 sats.

It is a paradoxical thing, I’ll take a quick stab. If the government holds hard money, corporations will then hold hard money, then people will hold hard money. Global Adoption. Sounds Good, will be messy and government and corporations will do everything in their power to control and profit privately. Luckily, Bitcoin cannot be corrupted.
