In The Creature from Jekyll Island, Edward E. Griffin probably summarises this best of all. He discusses the idea that major societal changes—particularly revolutions—are often initiated by a small, determined minority rather than by the majority. He references historical examples where a dedicated 3-5% of the population was enough to start and sustain revolutionary movements.

The American Revolution for instance.

The masses were never going to understand it. As with Covid, they'll move with the prevailing sentiment / authority as instructed.

Still need to tackle that big book 🥲

But you’re right, it only takes a small minority to instigate change. It’s just frustrating seeing people coming around to Bitcoin only because the state and banks are now talking about it. And most just stick to ETFs!

It's a beast of a book in fairness! But worth the effort. The author is an absolute gentleman and still going at 93!

The social engineering / conditioning is too strong for most. Studies such as The Milgram Experiment or The Stanford Prison Experiment evidence this fairly well.

It’s on my list!

And yes, people are easily influenced, unfortunately.
