Does next year's venue at the Venician in LV amplify that "wrong direction" sentiment in your estimation?
extreme respect to nostr:nprofile1qqs8k0mcqd6sw3h524qn5gslszt9am9knmes3uh268dgnnpv3yfwj6qpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz8nhwden5te0dehhxarj94c82c3wwajkcmr0wfjx2u3wdejhgtcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0wy5a35 for speaking truth to power when he was at the panelist desk; showing disgust and discontent with the direction the Magezine has gone with arranging this conference. at least, that was my interpretation.
Discussion
not really, at least not for me. I think moving the location of the conference is good; the die hards will travel no matter where, and you can inspire locals to go who otherwise wouldn't make a trek.
I personally understand Bitcoin Magezine is a company with their own incentives and will highlight in "the bitcoin world" will be beneficial to them first and foremost
I am personally more interested in the discussions happening on the OS stage, and would appreciate one camera pointed that way. I don't expect the same production value as what they're pouring into the main stage. but I'm just one pleb with an opinion - clearly not their intended audience lol.
thankfully there are other more technical conferences to fill the gap; but I feel like this conference has the platform to do more, and do it better.
I was mostly referring to the opulence of the venue. it's one thing to have it at a municipal convention center whether in Miami, Nashville, or Los Vegas. But the Venician looks more like a wedding venue all glitzy with marble and gold. Does that send the right message?
ah I understand what you mean now.
to me this is like a crypto bro flexing their new lambo; they are flexing their wealth and influence to self-validate their own perceived status. fiat behavior from the Magezine. imo, the wrong direction to move.
