Seemed like he approached the situation with good intentions and I think got some good results. Then he ran into the wave of money that keeps the machine functioning and there is no stopping it.

I agree with most of what you’re saying but I don’t think he will ever withdraw from politics. He’s a grifter who made his living off government subsidies. I think he just drank too much of his own kool aid and forgot how politics really works.
