I can’t remember the name of this one so

I’m calling it “green orange”

- a citrus fruit

- less juicy than an orange but sweeter than a lime.

- really yummy

- it’s very hearty.

Tangerine, mandarin or bergamot

Mandarin or clementine

I was thinking that but the inner flesh looks and feels completely different and it’s not as aromatic. Maybe they’re on the same clade

I also believe they are mandarines, or of the same family. The difference in look and taste is due to the environment where they grow, I think...

Possibly. Mandarins aren’t very juicy but I don’t think the color changes which is I why I’m nervous to call it an orange. It’s also a little tart and the kernels are spherical not oblong.

That made me curious, so I asked chatgpt and here is what came out: 🙂

> Based on the description and images, the fruit you're referring to is likely a sweet lime or sweet lemon, also known as mosambi in India. This citrus fruit is green or yellowish-green on the outside and is less juicy than an orange, with a taste that’s milder and sweeter than a lime. It's popular in tropical regions and is known for being refreshing and nutritious.

Yuzu?

I don’t think so. They peel more like an orange than a lemon or lime.
