I’m in 🙋🏻‍♂️

surely you must be joking.

'The United Nations is concerned about the rising hate speech, discrimination, and violence towards Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Queer (LGBTIQ+) individuals and organizations in Lebanon.'

nostr is for everyone. the orange pill does not discriminate. we shouod not hold events in countries that do not value human rights.

I'm not joking and sadly you'll find those issues in every country. There are no role model countries on these issues.

no doubt, but some are worse than others. just curious why do you suggest lebanon?

It's a gem of a country, strong and resilient people who have been through hell since the 70's until today. They are smart, innovative, entrepreneurial and more than even need Bitcoin as the country collapsed economically and need Nostr for the exact reasons you mentioned and above all to rise above the sectarian political apparatus ruining the country.

However, if Nostriches converge there, message will be loud and clear and because you'll never have a blast like Lebanese people do on a Tuesday.

North Korea is in serious need of Nostr and Bitcoin. That doesn’t mean we should hold a conference there. I definitely agree that we should try to help people living under oppressive regimes and give them freedom tools, but that doesn’t make the area a good place for a conference.

Lebanon is not North Korea brother. I lived there a few years and most judge the country from 5th avenue.

I guess i'll holler a few friends for a Bitcoin Nostr meet up at a bar in a dark street corner of Beirut

Fair enough. My point is that from my understanding of what’s going on in Lebanon right now it may not be the best and safest venue for a conference.

no doubt, i 100% agree. sounds like i would love to be there on a tuesday. my only point is that i feel all people should feel reasonably safe to attend nostr events regardless of gender, sexuality, race, or ethnicity.

as a libertarian, i feel it's kinda what the orange pill revolution is all about.

united we stand, divided we fall.

anyway, that's my 2 cents.

thanks for being awesome #[5]

Both of you are awesome. I'd love to debate over drinks some day 🤙🏻

first round's on me 🍻

Some are a lot better than others. Lebanon has not been doing well recently. Their central bank rug pulled everyone and they went in to hyperinflation.
