It can feel refreshing when a politician openly shows what they really are instead of hiding behind polished language. But there’s a subtle and dangerous downside: it normalizes that kind of behavior and mindset. When people see a president act that way, it sends the message, “If they can do it, why shouldn’t I?”
Over time, that lowers the bar for what’s considered acceptable both in politics and in everyday life. Transparency isn’t the same thing as honesty, and bluntness isn’t the same thing as integrity.
