Watched Maelström (2000), a surreal drama/dark comedy, directed by Denis Villeneuve. The story follows a young woman falling apart after a failed abortion and irresponsible lifestyle. She kills someone in a hit and run. This leads to weird coincidences and an unexpected love story with her victim’s son. The story is narrated by a talking fish. I enjoyed this one. It’s Denis’ second movie. The acting was excellent. The photography as well. Themes of redemption, destiny and virtue are explored. It was very interesting to see the main character’s atonement arc. 7.6/10 #nodereviews
