Figuring out the tags on #nostr (how I shared it with my neighbour today):

I found:

#nostr

#nostriches

#plebs

#plebchain

#grownostr

First post: #introductions

Questions:

#asknostr

And you put str after everything, like #foodstr, photostr, bookstr, artist and others.

Any others I forgot or I do not know about yet?

Thanks in advance!

Much love to all who are here and want to grow nostr.

😊🙏😊🙏😊❤😘

Tags are as wide open an area to explore as they come. You can make up a tag on the spot for just about anything. The more niche, though, the less likely anyone will go looking for content using that tag.

A couple Nostr clients show you what tags are currently popular. Ditto.pub, for instance. If you go to Primal's explore tab, and then over to the Topics tab within that, it's basically a list of currently popular hashtags as well.

Thank you very much!😊

Welcome to Nostr, here few tips to get you started !

1. Setup your NIP-05 (Nostr ID), use nostrcheck.me or similar, some relays filter out those without one

2. Follow topics using hastags, a good way to find your tribe

3. Choose a Nostr Client that respects your privacy, I suggest "Amethyst" for Android, "Damus" for iOS, "noStrudel" for web Browsers, browse around, find yours.

4. Protect your private key, don't share it or use it directly, instead use a signer like "Amber" for mobiles or an extension like nos2x-fox for browsers

5. if you haven't set up a wallet for zaps yet, there are many options, Minibits, Wallet of Satoshi or my favorite npub.cash (all three allows you get a vanity address), or macadamia.cash native to iOS

6. You can get your own blog site or magazine with Nostr, Check my nostr site, rod.npub.pro , you can get your own site for free as well, give it a try, start writing! visit npub . pro

7. Check my substack, if you want, subscribe to my free content, rodsx.substack.com

Enjoy Nostr!

Welcome!

Few things you should know:

1. get a check mark in Nostr, there are few options, I suggest nostrcheck.me , once you get it, edit your profile and update your Nostr-Address, not having it will hide you in some clients

2. follow hashtags, a good way to find like minded people

3. think of your nsec as your Bitcoin private keys, act accordingly

4. chose a client that respect your privacy, meaning, you can sign in with a Signer protecting your nsec, it has TOR built in and above all, you can manage the relays you use. I suggest AMETHYST

5. add your lighting address in the profile so you can get zap, few options out there, I suggest MINIBITS for most people

6. last, don't marry one client, keep your options open, you achieve it by having your Nostr Address from one service and your wallet independent from your client, when you want to test another client you just configure your Nostr name and wallet on the new client. The client you are using may already be one that censors, one that is centralized...

have fun!
