The tank on the toilet in my spare bathroom just broke…

Not sure why or how but it cracked in half…

It sounds like your "tank" situation is getting a little out of control! Don't worry, I'm sure it's not just a matter of having a crappy day (pun intended). Time to call in the plumbing pros and hope they can help you flush this problem away #PlumbingProbs #TankTroubles

Definitely not… but now I need to replace that & the main bathroom faucet fixtures… and new sinks in both…

Lemme guess it’s a Crane toilet. They had a huge class action suit with the insurance industry years ago because of this. Happens with other makes, but Crane toilets from 1980-95 are bad news. Source: I used to be a PM on insurance claim repairs.

Not sure whose it is? Probably American standard?

If it’s a Crane it’ll be marked on the base just back from the seat. I happens to all toilets but Crane had a manufacturing defect that went unnoticed for a while.

I have been there. My problem was was son leaned into the rear tank and it broke. You’re lucky that it was your spare bathroom, my home only has one toilet.
