... It is far from bullshit. You do realize almost 20% of the network has now, rather quickly even, switched to Knots, right? And that was an ACTIVE move by people choosing, whereas many other node implementations we might estimate are people not paying attention and not upgrading because of defaulting. Yes, there is obviously a lot happening in the world, but we are talking about Core rushing through an unnecessary change in order to allow more spam more easily on the network. If BTC is Gold 2.0 then let's look to gold diminishing its capacity as pristine collateral because its version of spam is that it also has industrial use-cases and is used in jewelry. This detracts from its optimal value as a SOV; similarly, spam detracts from BTC's highest purpose as the foundation of money.

Core doesn't want to allow more spam. Come on, DYOR.
