Not usually to prevent traffic buildup, just to waste your time, keep you away from things they don't want you seeing, get you to drive past more places you might waste money, etc
You're still under the idea that mega-conglomerates are real companies with business interested, and not just deep state agencies trying to kill people

not the question but: all 3 of those make people stupider and less able t get around. if you don't use your mind you lose it. If you don't exercise your body you lose it. need convincing? ask blind cave fish who have lost their sight because they don't need it. the Universe minmaxes always... nothing lacking nothing extra.
