No i gave up on it for now. I had tried to sign up for the self hosted version, got a channel open, but couldnt get zaps to work. Another user said that self hosting on a laptop is not a good idea because you need to have the laptop on all the time, to keep the channel open. I might revisit it later

Can I help you?
If you run it on your Desktop then you have to make sure to keep the app open when you want to receive and send.
If you have a channel open, did you also send sats in?
Yes i opened a channel on desktop and funded it. But the zapping wouldnt work right, i couldnt receive. Also, installing on my laptop turned out to be impractical because its has to stay on. I'll revisit the Hub later.
I see. so I assume receiving had issues because of the node not being online on the Desktop.
Alby Hub works best as an always online node on a server. which is why we also offer the Alby Cloud hosting.
i reccommend using their cloud hosting, and also, you need two channels, usually, an outbound one you fund 100% and an inbound one that you rent from a provider, at a fee usually like 10-20ksat
the fee for starting up an alby cloud hosted hub is about 21k
