It is funny tho, obviously as US is the dominant culture, a lot of British people will understand something say The Wire. But it's not really a two way street. Not saying this is a problem lol. Just the way it is lol. But it is ostensibly the same language lol. It's just obvious but still funny.

I find myself constantly like "wow! _____ did a great event in _____" and everyone over here is like oh yeah! So good! Then a British person is like "uh what do you mean that sucked"

Like all British people do shitty American accents (picking Boston or Texas usually) but everyone, even Americans are like wow! So believable! But we Americans try any accent not our own and people are like BOO YOU SUCK
