There's really only 1 war being fought, the war between light & darkness. This war has been fought for 200 thousand years.

It's repeated throughout our history.

Battles are won by both but the war is within each man & only ever ends when we realise that it's the darkness that makes the light so bright. Destroying darkness would destroy the light & so we must accept them both even though we have our preference.

It doesn't mean that we should stop acting towards what we prefer, it just means we can let go the fight. Darkness never wins, but it gets the upper hand when we play its games.

Brother, I appreciate this. You’re right that there’s an ultimate war beneath all the others. For me, that’s the war Christ already won on the cross.

You’re right that darkness wins when we play its games. That’s why I choose battles carefully. But some fights are mine to take. Every square inch of reality belongs to Christ. Sound money, truth, disciplined living, these battles are downstream of the primary war: Christ’s Lordship over all creation.

The fight isn’t something I let go of. It’s something I’ve surrendered to Him. And that makes all the difference.
