While I agree with the decision, this is just another example of fucked up incentives.

Farming the broken 'food' that society 'wants' is unprofitable and unsustainable, despite the government subsidies. So farmers are incentivised (or forced) to pivot into the energy industry.

This decision is just a bandaid, on another bandaid, on another bandaid, on the broken food industry, on the broken money.
