Rewriting history?
When Telepolis first saw the light of day in 1996, the term “alternative media” did not even exist. Telepolis was one of the pioneers of a journalistic, political medium in which facts and opinions that did not fit into the mainstream were also given a voice. This cultural heritage is now history. As part of a “quality offensive” - this term alone could have been borrowed from George Orwell's 1984 - Telepolis has now removed all articles published before 2021 from the web - that's over 50,000 articles. In 2021, the new editor-in-chief Harald Neuber, who is also responsible for the deletion campaign, took over the helm.
