Interesting! Looks like it’s based on Arch Linux. That would be a divergence for me, being an Ubuntu maximalist of many years, but may be worth it. I had been considering getting a SteamDeck in any case purely for the gaming.

On second thought, I think I want a machine with a physical keyboard. Probably. Something narrow enough to double-thumb.

I may have to just get the Steam Deck in order to find out.
