i think it's a symbiote with pines also, probably saw them alongside a bunch of amanita muscaria

yes, indeed, it is also a symbiote with pine trees

they dry nice, and store for a year or two without cooling and you can throw them in water and boil em for a while and they are very nice in soups, nice texture, tasty

Red Mouth Bolete. Poison. At least, that’s what we came up with in my Audubon guide.

ah, i did pick the family tho, be careful, most are not poisonous, but also not tasty
