I’m starting the New Year off strong. Yesterday, I took my first steps into Bitcoin mining at home.

I set aside some time, read a couple of set up articles, watched some YouTube videos, and got my Bitaxe up and running with Braiins Pool. There is a small learning and technical curve with set up. But it’s well worth the time. If home mining has been on your mind, I’m inviting you to take the leap.

Grab yourself a miner and start pool mining. The amount of sats these humble miners earn is small. But we’re talking about the hardest and rarest money ever created. Every sat is valuable!

You coming tomorrow night for Bitcoin and Bourbon?

I’m there. 🫡

can you give an idea of how many sats?

Been mining with a Bitaxe Gamma since late November on nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze and it's share of my daily average has been about 55 sats a day.

ok cool. My real motivation is to assist, even if it’s only in a small way, the overall decentralization of the network. Can I get a bitaxe and support OCEAN and actually make a measurable contribution? Even if infinitesimal?

Some would say that since the chance of you actually finding a block is so small, it doesn't actually contribute. I say that's nonsense.

First, you ARE contributing some hash-rate. Second, you are not alone. The total amount of hobbyists mining with Bitaxes adds to the decentralization of hash-rate, for sure. Third, if you mine with OCEAN and you have your own node, you can create your own block templates, which is more than can be said on any other pool at this time. This means the actual transactions that make it into any block you may find are not determined by a small group of entities (pools) but by each individual miner, yet without sacrificing the benefit of more regular payouts.

thanks so much!

I love bitaxe but Canaan Avalons are given the best price for tH on the home miner market right now - 3 tH (running on medium) for $160; and they’re still the best priced even at the marked up $250 price from resellers on Amazon

Welcome aboard mate! 🤙Is that the gamma version? The 1TH/s one? I believe mine is 700GH/s... But can't complain. 😎

I’m just seeing your reply for some reason. Sorry about that! This one is a Bitaxe Ultra I believe.

So did you buy that as a kit to assemble, or as a complete “plug and play” unit?

I was gifted this miner by a friend. It came assembled. All I had to do was plug it in and complete initial setup!
