If you use an apple juice or cider that has a preservative in it it will kill the yeast , you also don't want to use a concentrate it will work but it doesn't taste the same as if you fresh press the apples . Fortunately there are a lot of apples in my area and they are relatively inexpensive , I have also made Pineapple Cider which is really interesting because it tastes delicious but the combination of acid and alcohol on your tongue creates a very different kind of sensation I'm a fan of the flavor just not how it feels
