To start out with, cause Snowden said I could remain anon here and meet people.

I stay because the culture here is different. It's early, and I'm a early adopter. We're the pioneers who don't mind tinkering, helping, breaking things, and building things.

People with that mindset tend to be different in other ways. More willing to think outside of their own box. More likely to respect a well thought out opinion even if it challenges their own. Less likely to assume they already know everything. More likely to share what they do know.

Right now, Nostr is still a collaboration. A community of pioneers. We do things differently out here. We still help our neighbors. We check on one another. We still attend virtual barn raisings, celebrate achievements, and console losses together.

I think Bitcoin is cool, but ultimately I don't give a damn about it. It's a tool that solves an important problem - but a tool. What ultimately brings me to Nostr, is everyone reading this message.

And just like Davy Crockett, if it gets too big and we lose our frontier spirit, I may move on to the next frontier, and I'll expect to see many of you there, because that's what pioneers do. We build, settle, establish, make safe, then move forward.
