All shinies should have just been gold recolors. That would have looked much better than all the puke greens and shit like that. Or maybe they could have made them either gold or silver based on the game you caught them in, then crystal could have added crystalline shinies that are literally just regular pokemon but shinier. RSE could have done red, blue, and green crystal shinies, frlg just basic red and green recolors, and so on. It'd only become an issue once we got to XY but I guess they could have done like Yveltal and Xerneas color schemes.
