Are FOSS smart TV's a thing? 👀
Discussion
On a serious note, given that many tvs have android to run them, it should be a thing
i still prefer projectors
i've always been a big fan of them, but buildings rarely have any space suitable for setting one up properly. need a precise flat surface, silver paint with the sparkly bits of metal in it. it's something i want to do... have the whole floating comfy seat and the split keyboard and all that jazz, giant projector, 7.1 surround sound with proper 90s japanese silicon and drivers...
the AI still isn't smart enough to do a fully gesture/voice control system and the displays are amazing but i don't think there will ever be anything better than a UHD projector in a dark room and mech split keyboard and upright giant precision trackball.
i can see myself doing this in the near future. really near even.
Best option may be to never give TV access to your network. Instead connect a MiniPC with Linux. Hopefully KDE Plasma Bigscreen will see renewed development but any good distro will do for now.
I press on my closed eyes really hard until I see interesting colors. Free and open source
