They are easy to spot (and awful to read).
We'll be downzapping all AI-generated stories so they won't get rewarded.
Good point! But the thing is that I know how to make an AI-generated text that are nearly impossible to know that was generated by AI (its a bit hard, but not impossible)
If you can write a story with AI that trained editors cannot detect and readers/voters will enjoy more than other entries, then we can't stop you.

What makes stories great is something biological and experience based (as well as linguistic). If you know how to craft stories this way, you'll know that LLMs do not have the requisite data to parse to produce something similar. You'll know that your human connection is worth more than producing infinite stories at zero cost (time and money).
We cannot ban AI, but I can say I've never read a 100% gen-AI story I liked more than human-written ones.
