So, hypothetically, if that VC wanted to stop you from using any open source project, all they have to do is donate?

VC funding by anti-freedom anti-privacy bilionaires is a huge red flag in my book.

Wtf? I'm going to check that. But I assume all messages are encrypted, so they "can't" read the body content only metadata?

Is it more secure to have your own Simplex server or is the encryption the problem?

It's always better to self-host your stuff.
