Amethyst/Onyx was working fairly smoothly until this last update. Back to being nearly unusable again. Shame that it seems to be the only Android client being updated lately. IMO, time should be put into peformance improvements for a few releases vs stuffing more features into it.

In the meantime clearing your cache, and maybe data would help. Make sure to back up your nsec if you clear all data! You will need to log back in with it.
I've been testing Amethyst randomly for months now and unfortunately 98% of the time it is unusable for me. My device has a Snapdragon 712 paired with 8gb of ram, not the latest and greatest but should be more than sufficient. Clearing cache does not help. My client of choice on Android is Nostros but it hasn't been updated for a while now, the dev is dealing with some life stuff. Plasma is another client I keep an eye on but it's still missing a few features I need, like editing relays & zaps.
Strange, I'm on a pixel 6a and it runs great. I'm sorry to hear that.
