i would totally be down for a phone that only has a light on the back for the flash

years ago (2005) i owned a phone with a transflective display... yeah, they are a bit washed out but you can read them in bright sunlight

they have improved now a lot with the contrast ratio but the idiot consumer's disregard for the danger of blue light and the lack of usability in daytime outdoors situations has led to a lack of funds directed in this direction
