No, it’s the engagement I lack

I feel ya, nostr is still relatively small. Most of the best engagement, in my experience, is in the comments and not from notes that I’ve made. I do like that most people are genuine and I’m happy with quality over quantity. Just as with bitcoin, we are still early.
My suggestion is to follow more people and engage with their notes with authentic comments. Theres real people on the other side of the screen. Whenever I participate, I have no lack of engagement.
Not saying you're this way but in general, irl, you cant stand in the corner of the room not talking to anyone and expect ppl to come up to you and strike up a convo. Have to treat nostr the same way, it's not legacy social media where engagement is spoon fed.
Yes. My follows are almost as many as my followers. I follow many, mute frequently, but rarely unfollow. My feed feels abundantly blessed with a wide variety of subjects, not only #bitcoin or lightning.
You need to follow a lot more people.

I agree, and when I do go through the #introductions in order to do so, I inevitably receive a nasty lil note about how I followed a bot, or I followed a spoof account, as if I contracted herpes or something. Since I love #nostr so much, I am blissfully unperturbed by this, but I wonder how such scolding rests with #noobs, or less bold users.
