Bots and spammers will always be an uphill battle, for every single platform. Now, there's nothing stopping a client from absolutely run advertisements on their website or inside their app. I'm sure we'll see this happen at some point. Client developers like money too. They could also accept payments from users. But the beauty is, if users don't like what they're doing or how they're handling it, they'll go elsewhere!

It is not that they like money, they need to subsist. There needs to be a functional model where building and maintaining the whole things is sustainable. I am a software developer building teams. I can tell you for a fact that many of the amazing developers building this whole thing could do good money on the market.
Right. I didn't mean liking money as in greed. I meant liking money as they like getting paid for their time and infrastructure that they're getting billed to use for the app to run. Everything has cost associated with it.
