Ordinals today apply a FIFO derived transaction label to utxo transactions (bitcoin). I suspect we will some day have LIFO ordinals to facilitate transparent tax reporting etc. Might be some duplicated NFTs, utxos resulting in clear ownership more valuable maybe?
