Why would you want privacy in a reserve currency ? As the #bitcoin network stands today - like 7 k txns per block ( correct me ) - it is NOT designed to buy coffee 😔

You do want txns between nation states , sovereigns , corporations and wealth funds out there in open ? Don't you ?

And if you do want privacy for personal use - you have lightning - I am told quite private .. and for sure Monero .

... Though the best to me is just pulling out cash from your bank ATM :-) ..

sovereign LN usage appears to offer good privacy.

at the cost of UX headaches

and the user cant actually verify their own transactional privacy.

mostly its "private" in the same way your bank account is.

custodians transacting among each other.

a lot like the base layer.

i don't consider increases in custodial usage bullish because they arent censorship resistant.

Sure .. no tool is going to ever serve every use case .. (though some bitcoiners feel , it is going to FIX everything :-) ..

Personally ..I think anonymity is the only way to privacy .. all #privacy tools are kinda immune response ..cuz people can't stop ID themselves on electronic systems !

theres a difference between transactional privacy and network privacy

but you're absolutely right, they're both important and connected to each other.

but whatever gains we can make

on both fronts,

are helpful.

Why would I want to hide my spend on coffee and bagels !

Particularly if my Identity is not attached to the transaction .. sure some people will know . .. Like my wife :-) .. or anyone interested in my real Identity.. even God can be found if we work hard !

... the point of anonymity is - being just a simple face in crowd .. losing ID is losing ego ! If we do that .. I guess there is no incentive for anyone to spend research hours on me .. 😭..

But yes .. not everyone may like to stay anonymous..

hilarious (not really) that "p2p electronic cash system" is now considered the deviant view 😢

I mean .. seriously .. no one thinks #bitcoin is a ever going to be a p2p .. only hope is #nostr hitting four billion people and an emergence of creative economy running on zaps .. but other day I heard shitZaps are welcome on #nostr :-) ..So

So I guess the Bitcoin whitepaper is no longer the bedrock founding documentation of Bitcoin, but something that actively gets in the way of statist bastardization.

Thank you for confirming what I already suspected to be the case, do not pass "GO" and collect two hundred fiat bucks.

i dont think "a blockchain can serve 4B people so we need custodial solutions" is a timely argument.

the mempools are fucking dead.

custodians should be the LAST scaling solution when all technical options have been adopted.

instead we see an enthusiasm for them when they aren't actually needed

because fiat number go up.

cart before the horse.
