Gov. Kevin Stitt (R-Okla.) announced on Wednesday that Oklahoma has removed over 453,000 voter records as part of an initiative to maintain accurate voter rolls. The purge included nearly 100,000 deceased individuals, more than 140,000 people who have moved out of state, over 5,000 convicted felons, and nearly 200,000 inactive voters. This is part of a series of election integrity measures that Oklahoma has implemented in recent years. The state continues to use hand-marked paper ballots that are scanned by e-scan machines not connected to the internet for added security.
Oklahoma residents have until October 11 to register to vote in the November 5 General Elections.
