Is having a child an egoic expression? Or are awakened parents creating a safe passage to this physical world, giving a soul an opportunity to experience life/fulfill a mission?

Great question! I have kids, and at the time i had them, i believed in the reality of space and time, of duality, and in bodies. now that i am fully on a spiritual path rooted in nonduality and fixed on the goal of removing all barriers to Love’s presence, i see the act of bearing children as an expression of the need for special love relationships and to “get” something from those relationships we think is lacking in us.
I also believe we are reliving lives that have already happened in a dream sequence of lives, in an instant. under the guise of linear time, these lives feel like literal lifetimes, but everything really happened all at once.
what im saying is i believe having children, our careers, and things that appear to happen here we meant to happen. call it destiny. how we respond (look) at those events in the present is all that matters. i see my status as a father and relationships with my children as opportunities for forgiveness, to see them as i (try to) see everyone else, as pure spirit, whole and innocent. one with God, as myself.
special love relationships like with children is just another ego trap. my children in reality are part of the same Mind that seemingly split into countless bodies.
i love having an opportunity, as you alluded to, to teach them about right perception and to see all things in a different way than through the body’s eyes & with ego thoughts.
