Yes, if you concentrate on it it should become better. The more you try to make it better the easier it will be when you need it.
I had a young guy I was working with once and I wanted him to cut up some plywood scraps for padding. They didn’t have to be perfect so he just hacked them up into random pieces. I asked him why he couldn’t make them neater and more uniform and he said it didn’t matter. He missed an opportunity to get better with his eye and cut straight lines without snapping one.
