I did but much preferred Amethyst. As much as I adore the ethos of nostr based applications, it is worrisome that you have to be of dev quality to overcome spam
i don't see them at all and i have their profile pictures block and i have my relays configured to use paid relays, WoT relays, or relays that mitigate spam better than others.
the other option is to use a client that handles all of this quite well for you. have you tried Primal? https://primal.net
