Some scammers found a way of minting tokens using ordinals protocol and selling them to gamblers.

Wow! So they are minting on the bitcoin network? (I’m assuming ordinals are on the bitcoin network)

Yes, it's happening on the bitcoin network. But it's a bit different than tokens on the other blockchain platforms.

Does this help load the network for further stress in future? Or will it accelerate Lightning’s use by more people?

At this point I'm not sure but it is deffinately good marketing for lightning.
