It seems pretty apparent to me that he's been very negative since the beginning of this Nostr bull run since it coincided with the launch of OPA and Bitcoiners jumped on Nostr on day one. It's understandable to be upset. You can either be upset or do what #[5]did. He worked for a year on his Bitcoin social app and then saw Nostr's potential and pivoted. Smart move.
As for competition, it seems pretty obvious. Nostr connects Bitcoiners, even though it's not a Bitcoin app. I've met hundreds of Bitcoiners, many now IRL, that have become close friends that I cannot wait to meet up with again. We're building real world relationships. Maybe they're not overly hyper-local at at this time, but that's easily a feature that any developer, including yourselves, could add if the users wanted it.
