Oh shit, I was at a family dinner and came back to a full disk on the relay vm. Taking the relay down to move it to a much more powerful VM both in terms of storage and CPU/RAM. Expected downtime: ~1h

Shit! How compute intensive is running a relay? What kind of specs do you need?

Really depends on what you want to do with your relay. If you’re going to host your own and your closer friends events then you can run it on the cheapest VPSes with 1 vCPU, 1-2 gb ram etc. If you want to host a free and open relay for anyone to connect to, you will need to increase the CPU resources a bit to handle the load. It’s really hard to give exact numbers.

This helps, thanks. My best move is prob just to start by setting up a personal/family&friends relay till I get the hang of it.

can you share the recommended specs? Thanks!

It’s back up! Storage space, CPU and RAM increased a lot. Will hopefully run stable for a looong while now.
