I had no idea a new president has to wait so long before taking power. Seems completely outrageous that the outgoing presidency can make huge decisions in this handing over period.

Of course it's fair. We're an upstart, brash, bragadocious bunch of weirdos and idiots that love to fight but also come up with really brilliant stuff on occasion.
