I believe it is inevitable that Bitcoin will have decimal shifts implemented in a way that automatically repeats at set intervals.

The decimal limit is a form of uncertainty of the network, without it the value of Satoshi's will continue to rise to the point that 1 Satoshi becomes worth more than 1 Bitcoin is today.

With modest 15% annual (rate seen over the 6 previous years) increases in the mining network's actual energy input (hashrate increases being offset by efficiency increases), along with the effective doubling of the value of coins given in exchange for that rising energy input every 4 years thanks to the halving, the resulting 36.76% baseline annual value growth indicate Satoshi's will be worth the equivalent of $6279.92 in only 50 years.

Correction: The decimal limit is a form of uncertainty of the network, without (the decimal shift being implemented) the value of Satoshi's will continue to rise to the point that 1 Satoshi becomes worth more than 1 Bitcoin is today.
